Iran has thrown its support behind the landmark mutual defense agreement recently concluded between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, viewing the deal as a critical building block for a self-sufficient security structure in the region.
The commendation was delivered by Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly. He lauded the defense pact as the inception of a “comprehensive regional security system” that will encourage collaboration among Muslim nations of West Asia across political, security, and defense spheres.
